Forward Air’s 2Q Income Jumps

Forward Air Corp. said late Wednesday its second-quarter profit jumped to $12 million, or 40 cents a share, from $7.9 million, or 27 cents, a year ago.

Revenue rose 8.3% to $132.2 million, the carrier said in a statement.

Airport-to-airport revenue rose to $91.5 million from $81.7 million, while logistics unit revenue improved to $18 million, from $17.2 million.

The company projected its third-quarter revenue will rise 6% to 10% from a year earlier, with earnings of 38 cents to 42 cents per share, up from 31 cents a year ago.



Forward Air, a contractor to the air cargo industry, is ranked No. 46 on the Transport Topics 100 listing of U.S. and Canadian for-hire carriers.
