EPA to Reconsider 2008 Smog Standards

Environmental Protection Agency Administrator Lisa Jackson said the agency will reconsider 2008 national smog standards to ensure they protect human health.

“This is one of the most important protection measures we can take to safeguard our health and our environment,” Jackson said.

EPA will conduct a review of the science used to set the 2008 standards, she said, including more than 1,700 studies and public comments.
