LOUISVILLE, KY. — East Manufacturing introduced an integrated extruded aluminum side-rail system available on both sides of its East Beast and Beast II flatbed trailers.

The patent-pending system accommodates a Double-L winch with flat-hook straps for cargo securement. The flat hook tie downs are interchangeable, allowing torque to be applied evenly to stabilize the load. Each tie down can be positioned exactly where it is needed to firmly secure the cargo.

The side rail maintains the standard features and benefits of East's Securetight cargo control system. Straps go inside the rail instead of over the top, protecting the strap from chafing against the winch hook and from shearing or cutting should the trailer be involved in a mishap.

The new side-rail system meets the 5,400-pound  maximum load rating standard for flatbed trailers set by the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration.

East Manufacturing also announced the opening of its high-tech manufacturing facility at its Randolph, Ohio, headquarters. The new 75,000-square-foot building will have the capacity to produce 2,000 trailers annually.
