Durable Goods Orders Rise 2.5% in February

Durable goods orders rose 2.5% in February, the Commerce Department said Wednesday.The increase followed a 9.3% decline in January that was bigger than previously reported. Orders excluding transportation equipment fell 0.1%, the fourth drop in five monthsEconomists had predicted a 3.5% increase, Bloomberg reported. Trucking is a major beneficiary of durable goods manufacturing, hauling both components and finished goods.
