Drivewyze Adds Bypass Service in Kansas

Drivewyze Inc. said Kansas has become the 17th state to adopt its PreClear weigh-station bypass service.

Bypass opportunities are now available for subscribers to PreClear at all eight weigh station locations in Kansas, Drivewyze said in an announcement.

PreClear uses cellular networks and the Internet to add transponder-like functionality to tablets, smart phones and certain electronic onboard recorders, such as those offered by PeopleNet, Zonar Systems and XRS Corp.

The bypass service notifies the driver of an upcoming inspection site 2 miles in advance. Drivers may then receive permission 1 mile out to bypass the station if the fleet meets the state enforcement agency’s safety standards.

PreClear also is available for Android, iOS and Blackberry.
