Dickinson Fleet Services announced the purchase of Highway Express Trailer Repair Co., a move that expands the company’s trailer repair business in the Chicago-area market.

The deal is the sixth acquisition in the last 10 months for Dickinson, a portfolio company of Ridgemont Equity Partners and based in Indianapolis.

“The addition of Highway Express widens our footprint and increases our ability to provide high quality semi-trailer repair services at the lowest possible cost nationwide,” said Ted Coltrain and Mike Dickinson, executive officers of Dickinson, in a joint statement issued Feb. 12.

Marian Piecek, owner of Highway Express, will continue as regional service manager for Dickinson and will head up trailer repair service in the Chicago region.

Highway Express operates a 21,000 square-foot shop facility in Alsip, Ill., and has operated for more than 13 years.

Terms of the acquisition were not disclosed.
