DEF Prices Stable, Report Says

U.S. and Canadian retail pump prices of diesel exhaust fluid were stable in October, according to the DEF Tracker report by consulting firm Integer Research Ltd.

The national average price of DEF truck stops at U.S. truck stops was $2.79 per gallon, which has been the average price since November 2012, the report said.

In Canada, price was unchanged at 80 Canadian cents per liter, where it has held since October 2011.

DEF is a urea-based solution for aftertreatment in engines that use selective catalytic reduction technology.



The report said the average U.S. refill price for large, plastic DEF totes fell by 4 cents to $1.87 per gallon.
