Cummins believes hydrogen will become increasingly important in meeting fast-growing global energy demand while supporting efforts to drive down carbon emissions from energy generation.

Most recently, Adams served as vice president of strategic initiatives. Prior to that, she led Cummins Emission Solutions, the largest of the business units in its components segment.

Cummins is investing in two primary types of fuel cells, proton exchange membrane and solid oxide fuel cells, as well as hydrogen production. Hydrogen can be produced from renewable sources, stored economically and deployed for a diverse range of industrial and residential energy-generation applications. It also can be used in fuel cell passenger cars and commercial vehicles, including heavy-duty trucks, buses, trains and passenger ships. — Transport Topics
