Court Upholds EPA on Greenhouse Gas Emissions

A federal appeals court backed the Obama administration's campaign to limit greenhouse-gas emissions, the Wall Street Journal reported Wednesday.

The 3-0 ruling by the Washington, D.C., court backed the U.S. Environmental Protection and the Obama administration in the rule, which largely was contested by the utility industry, the paper said in a front-page story.

The automobile industry, including Ford Motor Co., is largely supportive of a national framework to regulate greenhouse emissions, the Journal reported.

Truck manufacturers have backed the Obama administration’s call, first announced in May 2010, to set more stringent fuel-economy targets for medium- and heavy-duty trucks, including greenhouse emissions.
