The Colorado State Patrol found nearly 100 violations during an operation in the Platteville, Colorado, aimed at identifying truckers and trucking companies that weren’t in compliance with safety rules.

The state patrol conducted spot safety inspections on vehicle carrying commercial property on U.S. 85 and Colo. 66 near Platteville, Trooper Lance Paa in a news release issued Oct. 1.

During the operation, 217 trucks were contacted and of those 33 were inspected. The inspections resulted in 89 violations, eight mechanical violations that resulted in an out-of-service order and one driver violation — driving without a proper license — that resulted in an out of service order, the release stated.

These operations are part of an ongoing campaign to combat unsafe, unlicensed and unregulated commercial property carrying vehicles. Additional operations in new locations will be conducted in the future, according to the release.
