Clean Energy to Provide CNG at Atlanta-Area Stations

Clean Energy Fuels Corp. has agreed to establish compressed natural gas facilities at the Atlanta-area fuel stations of PS Energy Group.

By fall 2011, CNG facilities will be available at PS's stations in East Point, Lithonia and Tucker, Ga., Clean Energy said in a statement Monday. It will also increase CNG capacity at the Whitehall Street station in downtown Atlanta.

The 15-year agreement between the companies is partially funded by the $39.5 million Clean Cities Atlanta Petroleum Reduction program, a local public-private partnership designed to improve fuel economy and air quality in the Atlanta area.

Construction on the new facilities will begin during the second quarter of this year, Clean Energy said.
