NEW ORLEANS — Clarience Technologies detailed how the addition of video safety system provider Safe Fleet will enhance its Fus1on fleet data platform, which already features capabilities from other technology providers owned by Clarience.

“The system is essentially a wireless camera,” said Mark Johnson, chief marketing officer for Clarience, during a March 4 press conference at the 2024 Technology & Maintenance Council Annual Meeting and Transportation Technology Exhibition. “You can get up to four cameras wired into the central transmitter. The central transmitter then connects into any telematics system.”

Safe Fleet joins a stable of Clarience companies, which includes Truck-Lite, Ecco, Code 3, Pressure Systems International, Davco, Road Ready, Fleetilla, LED Autolamps, Rigid Industries and Lumitec.

Safe Fleet’s backup camera and sensor system, called Rear View Safety, allows for integration of side cameras with its Air Vue technology as well as trailer telematics. Johnson said Air Vue is in use with more than 20 national for-hire and private carriers.

“We can envision what’s possible by bringing the Air Vue wireless trailer vision system to our lineup of other commercial trailer safety technologies,” he added.

Safe Fleet will help Clarience Technologies strengthen its position in several industry segments, including school transportation, transit, fire and emergency, law enforcement, waste, industrial and recreational vehicles, Johnson said. The acquisition also paves the way for cross-selling opportunities, increased innovation and an improved customer value proposition.

The addition of Safe Fleet will help Clarience advance its “Total Visibility” initiative to incorporate of all its smart visibility technologies into the Fus1on IoT platform.

“We envision a digital safety ecosystem built from connecting a variety of smart technologies and solutions with software enabling data-driven insights and actions that improve safety outcomes and performance,” said Paul Sniegocki, chief technology officer at Clarience. “With the right pieces now in place, we are accelerating our research and development efforts including close collaboration with our customers and technology partners.”

Johnson also announced that Davco Technology has introduced its Fuel Pro 499 model diesel fuel/water separator for Class 8 trucks. The component features a higher filtration capacity, which helps increase overall engine protection and improve uptime, he said.
