CFI and its associates raised $39,000 to support local charities in communities where its employees live and work across the U.S., Canada and Mexico, the company announced Dec. 8.

The Annual Truckloads of Treasures Holiday Giving Campaign is a tradition for the company that was first established in 1993. CFI said that the campaign reflects its unique community-friendly culture.

“We’ve already adapted and evolved to provide consistent, reliable services to the business world, so with Truckloads of Treasures we are bringing the same focus, perseverance and grit to engaging our communities and raising money for key charities that support our fellow citizens in need,” CFI President Greg Orr said. “We live in extraordinary times, and I could not be prouder of our associates and their determination.”

CFI said that the funds are raised entirely through donations from its associates. Normally the company raises funds through in-person bake sales, chili cook-offs and pie competitions. But due to the coronavirus pandemic it has pivoted away from that in favor of a virtual donation platform. That includes a companywide fundraising raffle that provides associates with the opportunity to win prizes donated by the executive management team.

“It would be easy to devote the bulk of our time and resources to our day-to-day professional lives, but community is about coming together and supporting those less fortunate,” Orr said. “And what better time to do so than during the holidays.”

CFI associates have donated more than $960,000 since the campaign began. The campaign contributes to charities nominated by associates and benefits underserved families, children and the elderly during December. CFI said eight charities based in its headquarters of Joplin, Mo., received contributions this year.

The associates performed more than 290 recorded volunteer hours this past year in the Joplin area. They also partnered with service organizations throughout the U.S., Canada and Mexico to provide holiday gifts and food for underserved children and senior citizens.

CFI is a multifaceted transportation provider with a balance of asset and nonasset services that operates under the transportation and logistics company TFI International. TFI ranks No. 5 on the Transport Topics Top 100 list of the largest for-hire carriers in North America.
