Carrier Transicold released a new diesel-powered truck refrigeration unit designed to increase freezing capacity and efficiency, the company announced Oct. 20.

The Supra S10 also improves fuel economy for larger trucks compared with earlier models. The unit is the fifth model in the Supra line and marks the result of a multyear initiative to transform the single-temperature models with new technologies. It will be available early next year.

“The Supra S10 unit is ideal for local and regional cold chain distribution operations where the largest box trucks require maximum refrigeration performance,” said Scott Parker, product manager for truck products. “With exceptional capacity, airflow and overall performance … this innovative powerhouse is well-suited for producers and distributors of perishable and frozen products.”

The Supra S10 units includes 37,000 Btu capacity at 35 degrees Fahrenheit, three engine speeds and reduced service requirements. It also uses 45% less refrigerant than the prior model. The unit also integrates with Carrier Transicold’s eSolutions telematics platform so that it can leverage remote monitoring, refrigeration system controls, GPS location data and geofencing.
