Biodiesel Production Declines in February

U.S. biodiesel production dropped to 68 million gallons in February, from 77.2 million gallons a year ago, the U.S. Energy Information Administration reported Monday.

Month-over-month, production increased by 2 million gallons, according to EIA figures. EIA is part of the U.S. Department of Energy.

Production came from 110 biodiesel plants with capacity of 2.1 billion gallons per year, EIA said.

In February, 44 million gallons of biodiesel were sold as 100% biodiesel and 23 million gallons were sold in biodiesel blends.
