Amthor International Expands Virginia Trailer Plant

Amthor International announced it will expand its tanker truck manufacturing operation in Gretna, Va., with the construction of a new 115,000-square-foot production plant, which become its corporate headquarters.

The expansion is expected to create 70 new jobs over three years and 90 new jobs over the next five years, according to the company, which is spending about $7 million on the project.

Also, the Tobacco Region Revitalization Commission is supporting this project with a grant from Tobacco Region Opportunity Fund grant.



“We are excited for the future as our company grows and look forward to the additional jobs and success we can pass on to our employees, dealers and customers,” Brian Amthor, the company’s executive vice president, said in a statement.

Amthor International, a family run business for the past 90 years, is a manufacturer of tank trucks for the refined fuel, propane, portable restroom, vacuum, septic, water, dust control, well drilling, construction and fire protection industries.
