Allison’s Income Nearly Doubles

Allison Transmission Holdings reported its first-quarter net income nearly doubled on stronger conditions in the trucking industry.

Indianapolis-based Allison earned $52.1 million, or 28 cents per share, from $27.5 million, or 15 cents per share. Its revenue rose 8% rise to $493.6 million.

Separately, wheel and component maker Accuride Inc. said its first-quarter loss narrowed to $3.6 million, or 7 cents per share, from $15.9 million, or 31 cents, a year earlier.

Accuride’s revenue rose 2.3% to $166.8 million.
