Business Transportation Solutions opened in 2002 and is located in Stoughton, Wis., and has 12 employees. AET is headquartered in Cedar Rapids, Iowa, and operates the Cedar Rapids and Iowa City Railway, as well as IEI Barge Services.

“BTS opens doors to new markets in Wisconsin and beyond,” AET President Kevin Burke said. “They have an exceptional reputation, and we’re excited to utilize their expertise as we offer customers expanded supply chain solutions.”

The deal will close within the next 90 days. Financial terms were not disclosed, but no Alliant Energy utility customer dollars will be used for the sale, according to the release.
