ABF, Teamsters Extend Contract Through End of May as Negotiations Continue

ABF Freight System said it has agreed to another extension of its contract with the Teamsters union, through May 31, as labor negotiations continue.

The less-than-truckload carrier made the disclosure in a Securities and Exchange Commission filing on Monday.

Late last month, ABF and the Teamsters had agreed to push back the National Master Freight Agreement contract deadline, originally set to expire at the end of March, through the end of April.

ABF is the largest business unit of Arkansas Best Corp., which is ranked No. 13 on the Transport Topics 100 listing of U.S. and Canadian for-hire carriers.
