ArcBest Corp. posted an increase in first-quarter revenue despite freight market uncertainty, the company reported April 28.

The Fort Smith, Ark.-based logistics company posted a net loss of $1.04 million, or negative 5 cents a diluted share for the three months ending March 31. That compared with a net income of $3.13 million, 13 cents, during the 2025 period. Total revenue increased 3.3% to $998.8 million from $967.1 million.

“We began 2026 with growth in asset-based shipments and tonnage, and continued improvement in asset-light profitability,” said ArcBest CEO Seth Runser. “Our teams continue to deliver a premium experience for our customers despite a dynamic and uncertain environment, and their alignment around our strategy and priorities gives us confidence in our ability to execute and deliver on our long-term targets.”

Revenue by Segment

Asset-Based: Increased 1.4% to $655 million from $646.3 million. Shipments per day increased 1.8%, while billed revenue per shipment increased 0.6%. Operating income decreased 33.7% to $17.5 million from $26.4 million.



Asset-Light: Increased 6.1% to $377.7 million from $356 million. Shipments per day increased 9.8%, while revenue per shipment decreased 2.6%. Operating income was $200,000, compared with an operating loss of $4.4 million.
