YRC Worldwide has named Tim Wicks, formerly the company’s chief financial officer, to the newly created position of chief operating officer.
Wicks will be responsible for sales, marketing, pricing, operations and financial strategy for the less-than-truckload carrier, YRC said late Monday. He will report directly to Bill Zollars, YRC’s chairman and chief executive officer.
The company had previously shuffled its top management team in June, when it named Mike Smid, who previously headed YRC’s national unit, chief operations officer for both national and regional LTL services, and John Garcia executive vice president and chief sales officer.
Smid and Garcia will both report directly to Wicks, as will Chief Marketing Officer Greg Reid and Andy Slusher, vice president of pricing.
Sheila Taylor will succeed Wicks as CFO; previously she was the company’s treasurer and vice president of investor relations.
Paul Liljegren will succeed Taylor in those positions, while Phil Gaines will assume the role of chief accounting officer, in addition to his other finance duties. Both will report to Taylor, as will with Terry Gerrond, vice president of taxation.
YRC Worldwide is ranked No. 4 on the Transport Topics 100 listing of U.S. and Canadian for-hire carriers.
