YRC Names Chief Strategy Officer

YRC Worldwide said its board has elected Richard Williamson to be the company’s first chief strategy officer to “coordinate and oversee” the less-than-truckload carrier’s recovery process.

The appointment, disclosed in a regulatory filing this week, said Williamson and two consulting firm were retained “to assist the company in formulating and implementing its comprehensive plan to address the company’s capital structure and liquidity needs.”

YRC is ranked No. 4 on the Transport Topics 100 listing of U.S. and Canadian for-hire carriers.
