XPO Logistics Inc. announced Jan. 9 that it has appointed Kurt Rogers as its new chief legal officer and corporate secretary.
Rogers joins the company after having worked in legal and leadership roles elsewhere. He has a law background in intellectual property and litigation.
Karlis Kirsis was also promoted to senior vice president and European chief legal officer. He has worked on legal matters for the company as corporate counsel since 2017. Both positions take effect Feb. 3.
“Kurt is a results-oriented leader with a talent for aligning legal functions with strategic and organizational goals,” XPO Logistics CEO Brad Jacobs said. “He brings extensive expertise in areas important to our strategy, including M&A, intellectual property and international law, and will be supported by Karlis’ team in Europe. We have a deep bench of transatlantic talent in place.”
Rogers most recently served as executive vice president and general counsel for three years at the medical waste management company Stericycle Inc. Before that, he worked as the chief legal officer for Vonage Holdings Corp.
Rogers was formerly a partner at Bingham McCutchen and at Latham & Watkins. His legal background stems from getting his juris doctorate degree from Cornell Law School.
