Xata’s Losses Widen in 4Q

Transportation software firm Xata Corp. said Thursday it lost $4.5 million, or 57 cents a share, in its fiscal fourth quarter, compared with a loss of $498,000, or 7 cents, a year ago.

Revenue fell to $6.8 billion for the quarter ended Sept. 30, the company said in a statement.

The company said its quarterly results reflected one-time legal costs of $1.1 million relating to the settlement of a patent infringement lawsuit, and a $1.8 million write-off of capitalized system development costs.

For the full year, losses widened to $7.8 million from $2.1 million in 2006. Revenue increased slightly to $30.7 million from $30.6 million a year ago, Xata said.
