Xata Corp. has introduced Xata Turnpike Multiple Management Authority, a driver tracking tool for household goods movers.
The new product allows drivers and fleet managers to track hours of service more easily across many fleets or authorities, Christian Schenk, Xata’s vice president for market development and product marketing, said in a statement.
David Hauenstein, vice president for compliance services and government relations at the American Moving & Storage Association, said this technology concept was first discussed at the group’s 2011 National Safety Conference.
“Since carriers often operate under different authorities for different segments (household goods, trade shows, special products) of their business, this first-of-a-kind feature would be a welcome addition for many movers,” Hauenstein said in a statement.
