Xata Adds Navigation to Mobile Comm. Systems

Mobile communications provider Xata Corp., Minneapolis, said Feb. 24 it had integrated ALK Technologies’ CoPilot Truck navigation system into its Xatanet and MobileMax software.

ALK’s CoPilot is a navigation system with truck-specific routes. It offers both maps and voice-based directions. Xatanet is Xata’s flagship mobile communications system for private fleets.

MobileMax, which Xata took over when it acquired GeoLogic in 2007, is a mobile communications system aimed at for-hire fleets.
