Highway crews in Wisconsin on June 16 began installing 70 mph speed limit signs along some interstates, the Wisconsin Department of Transportation announced.

County highway crews will install about 470 updated speed limit and related signs, WisDOT said.

About 810 miles will be affected along interstate segments currently posted at 65 mph.

The new speed limit takes effect once a highway is officially posted at the higher speed.
