William Graves, Father of ATA President, Dies

illiam Graves, the former head of Graves Truck Line Inc. and father of American Trucking Associations President Bill Graves, died Friday at the age of 90, the Associated Press reported.

Graves started Graves Truck Line with his father and brothers. He served as president of the Kansas Motor Carriers Association and was on the board of governors of ATA, AP said.

He also owned and operated the former Graves Truck and Auto Museum in Salina, Kan and was a former president of the Salina Chamber of Commerce.

His son, Bill, was governor of Kansas prior to becoming president of ATA.
