Wholesale Inventories Rise 0.2%

Wholesale inventories rose 0.2% in July, the Commerce Department said Friday.

Wholesale sales inched up 0.1%, the department reported.

Economists had forecast a 0.4% increase, Bloomberg reported.

Wholesale inventories account for about a fourth of total business stockpiles. Retailers and factories account for the rest.
