Wabco Reports Higher Profit in 3Q

Wabco Holdings said it earned a profit of $44 million, or 66 cents a share in the third quarter, compared with a loss of $33.8 million, or 52 cents, a year ago.

Wabco Vehicle Control Systems makes electronic braking, stability, suspension and transmission automation systems for heavy-duty commercial vehicles.

“As the commercial vehicle industry continues its recovery, we see further strengthening of market conditions that favor Wabco's three-pillar strategy of technology leadership, global expansion and excellence in execution,” said Chief Executive Officer Jacques Esculier.

Sales jumped 50% to $545.2 million, up from $382 million a year ago.
