Wabash Gets Order for 4,000 Trailers from Prime Inc.

Wabash National Corp. said it has signed an agreement with refrigerated carrier Prime Inc. to supply Prime with 4,000 trailers over three years.

Prime will take Wabash’s ArcticLite refrigerated van trailers over the next 34 months, and 2010 trailer production requirements of 725 of the trailers will begin this month.

The trailers have the “latest technology to maximize product protection, while reducing our carbon footprint and conserving energy,” said Robert Low, Prime’s founder and chief executive officer.

“We remain committed to our quest of providing our customers with the most productive and reliable equipment available,” he said in a statement Tuesday.

Last month, Swift Transportation Co. ordered 3,100 trailers from Wabash.

Prime Inc. is ranked No. 32 on the Transport Topics 100 listing of U.S. and Canadian for-hire carriers.
