At a press briefing in Asheville, N.C. the company said it had spent $95 million in two years bringing the Volvo VHD series to market. These trucks will replace the company’s Autocar and WG lines.
Commercial production of the new models will begin in August at Volvo’s assembly plant in Dublin, Va. Besides the North American market, the models will also be sold in Colombia, Venezuela and other export markets.
