VisTracks, Isotrak Partner to Offer E-Logging System

Fleet technology suppliers Isotrak Inc. and VisTracks have partnered to provide trucking firms with electronic logging of drivers’ hours of service and driver vehicle inspection reporting.

The partnership will integrate VisTracks’ tablet-based compliance application and portal with Isotrak’s fleet-management software, the companies said in a June 24 joint announcement.

The offering will enable drivers to keep electronic logs, be warned of impending violations and provide for pre- and post-trip vehicle inspections. The electronic data is available to both the back office and the driver via an onboard computer.

“Isotrak’s customers will be equipped to comply with the Department of Transportation’s ever-stringent regulations while also benefitting from improved efficiencies gained from the platform,” said Abraham Levine, VisTracks’ chief operating officer.

The announcement comes ahead of an expected federal mandate to require the use of electronic logging devices to record drivers’ hours of service. The Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration aims to issue a final rule on ELDs in the fall.
