Visteon Posts Fourth-Quarter Loss

Truck and automobile parts maker Visteon Corp. reported a fourth-quarter loss of $26 million, or 51 cents a share, compared with a profit a year ago.

In the fourth quarter of 2010, Visteon’s net income was $1.13 billion, including $1.06 billion in reorganization gains.

Sales slipped to $1.86 billion, from $1.89 billion in 2010.

For full 2011, Visteon posted net income of $80 million, down from $1.03 billion a year ago that included $933 million in reorganization gains connected with the company’s emergence from Chapter 11 bankruptcy. Sales rose to $8.05 billion, from $7.32 billion a year ago.



The company projected 2012 product sales between $7.1 billion and $7.5 billion.
