UTi Appoints Ditlev Blicher, Hessel Verhage to Lead Freight Forwarding Business

UTi Worldwide Inc. has appointed Ditlev Blicher and Hessel Verhage as co-presidents of the company’s global freight forwarding business.

Both had served the company in regional leadership roles and continue to report to CEO Ed Feitzinger.

Blicher leads UTi’s 10 area teams in Asia and Europe, and Verhage leads the company’s six area teams in Africa and the Americas. They share responsibility for freight forwarding support functions.

“By streamlining our leadership team and our geographic structure, we are better positioned to serve our clients and maximize the growth potential of our business,” Feitzinger said.



Prior to his new role, Blicher was president for the Asia Pacific region since joining UTi in June 2013. He previously spent 17 years with Ceva, most recently as executive vice president of group operations for Ceva Logistics.

Verhage had served as UTi’s president of freight forwarding for the Americas since August. He joined UTi in April 2014 as global vice president of trade services and compliance and as interim leader of the Americas ocean product team. He previously was vice president of international operations for AIT Worldwide.
