he Utah Trucking Association's board approved a measure last week for the group to continue campaigning against toll roads, the Associated Press reported.

The board voted at its annual meeting to continue spending money and devoting resources to oppose toll roads. The UTA represents about 430 trucking companies that operate in the state.

Of particular concern is the proposed Mountain View Corridor in western Salt Lake County and northwestern Utah County, AP reported.

Dan England, president of C.R. England Inc. and past president of the association, said toll roads unfairly burden people who live near toll roads and hurt commerce by limiting the routes available to truckers.

He said the trucking industry supported an increase fuel taxes instead of tolls, AP reported.

C.R. England, a refrigerated carrier based in Salt Lake City, is ranked No. 37 on the Transport Topics 100 listing of U.S. and Canadian for-hire motor carriers.
