USA Truck Reports First-Quarter Loss

USA Truck reported a first-quarter loss Monday, citing difficult weather conditions.

The truckload carrier reported a loss of $2.5 million, or 24 cents per share, compared with a loss of $4.9 million, or 47 cents, a year ago.

Revenue increased to $104.9 million from $97.8 million, the truckload carrier said.

Trucking revenue rose to $80 million from $76 million, while intermodal revenue fell to $3.6 million from $4.3 million.

In February, the carrier appointed John Simone as the company’s CEO, and former CEO Cliff Beckham returned to his role as the company’s chief financial officer.

USA Truck is ranked No. 49 on the Transport Topics 100 listing of U.S. and Canadian for-hire carriers.
