U.S. Xpress Enterprises is adopting tracking technology from SkyBitz to help boost its trailer utilization, the companies said in a statement.

The truckload carrier said it is deploying the tracking system this year across its fleet of new dry van trailers, as well as its existing trailers.

U.S. Xpress selected the subscription-based SkyBitz as a Service, which includes technology consultation, onboarding support and immediate implementation with no upfront cost.

Max Fuller, the carrier’s chairman and CEO, said SkyBitz worked with U.S. Xpress to develop a customized integration with its existing systems, enabling greater visibility across its departments, including maintenance, dispatch and business operations.

U.S. Xpress, based in Chattanooga, Tennessee, ranks No. 18 on the Transport Topics Top 100 list of the largest for-hire carriers in the United States and Canada.

SkyBitz is a subsidiary of Telular Corp.
