U.S. Trade Deficit Falls From Record

he U.S. trade deficit declined from a record in January to $6.75 billion in February, the Commerce Department said Wednesday.

The monthly trade gap narrowed by 4.1% from the record $68.6 billion the previous month, Commerce said.

Economists had forecast the deficit to fall to $67.5 billion, Bloomberg reported.



Imports fell in February to $178.7 billion, reflecting lower vehicle and aircraft demand.

The trade gap with China narrowed to $13.8 billion, the smallest in 11 months, from $17.9 billion in January.

.S. exports fell to $113 billion, from $114.3 billion the previous month.
