U.S. Construction Spending Rises 0.3% in June

onstruction spending rose 0.3% in June, the Commerce Department said Tuesday.

The increase followed no change in May, previously reported as a 0.4% decline.

Economists had forecast construction spending to rise 0.1%, Bloomberg reported.



Private non-residential construction rose 2.7%. Private residential construction fell 1%.

Construction spending can boost demand for trucking services because spending increases the number of shipments of goods and building materials.
