UPS Says Thursday Will Be Busiest Day of Peak Holiday Week

UPS Inc. said that Monday begins its seasonal peak week of the year and that it plans to deliver more than 135 million packages around the world this week, culminating with 28 million deliveries Thursday, its busiest day of the holiday season.

The company’s transportation and technology networks will be in full gear to meet demand, and UPS Airlines will add more than 400 flights per day this week, the company said, with about 3 million express shipments to be processed within 24 hours through the UPS Worldport international air hub in Louisville, Ky.

UPS Inc. is ranked No. 1 on the Transport Topics 100 listing of U.S. and Canadian for-hire carriers.
