UPS Expands Capacity at Three North American Facilities
UPS Inc. said it has expanded capacity at facilities in Calgary, Alberta; Hebron, Ky.; and Mira Loma, Calif., driven by demand in the retail, manufacturing and health-care industries.
The expansion adds about 478,000 square feet to the company’s supply chain network, which consists of 528 facilities and close to 31 million square feet.
“These expansions are part of UPS’s continued commitment to meet the needs of our customers,” Stephen Hydrick, vice president of North American distribution said in a statement. “As they launch new products and experience seasonal spikes in volume, they must have the flexibility to scale up and down. These investments give customers that flexibility, and it’s vital to their success.”
The Hebron facility added 151,000 square feet, and UPS said the location is considered a key logistics operation serving the retail industry.
The California location added 309,000 square feet, and the Canadian facility added 18,000 square feet of health-care space.
UPS ranks No. 1 on the Transport Topics Top 100 listing of the largest U.S. and Canadian for-hire carriers.
