Universal Reports Record Net Income, Revenue

niversal Truckload Services said late Wednesday its net income for the second quarter increased 23.1% to a record $5.4 million or 33 cents a share, up from $4.4 million or 27 cents in 2005. Revenue rose 19.9% to $95.8 million.

Universal said its truckload revenue rose 18.9% last year to $183.2 million, brokerage revenue gained 10.4% to $79.5 million and intermodal revenue rose 92.4% to $43.2 million.
