Trucking Helping With Oklahoma Tornado Relief Efforts

The trucking industry continues to help relief efforts in Moore, Okla., where last week’s tornado leveled the suburb south of Oklahoma City, killing 24 people and destroying thousands of homes.

So many people are sending supplies that relief agencies are now asking people to send checks instead, said Dan Case, executive director of the Oklahoma Trucking Association.

Werner Enterprises said it is partnering with Bass Pro Shops, the Red Cross and the Salvation Army to deliver supplies to the affected area.

Dart Transit Co. said it is partnering with one of its shipping customers, hauling loads of bottled water donated by Target Corp.

Logistics company Conexus LLC, Tulsa, Okla., said May 30 its employees collected supplies to ship to Moore.
