Trucker Tools has partnered with Anytrek to expand information available in its real-time visibility platform, the companies announced Aug. 3.

Anytrek produces GPS-tracking equipment and systems used by trucking firms.

Trucker Tools said the partnership will allow it to expand the platform with location data from trailer- and chassis-mounted tracking devices manufactured by Anytrek.

“One of the issues with traditional trailer tracking devices is they are visible on the trailer and are easily and quickly removed and discarded by someone attempting to steal the trailer,” Estefania Gallegos, manager of operations at Anytrek, said in a statement.

Trucker Tools said the integration will provide its customers with more comprehensive shipment visibility data. The company is integrating Anytrek’s TrackLight unit, which is a fully functioning taillight with a GPS tracker.

“Our unit is installed inside the taillight, invisible to a potential thief, which is advantageous from a security perspective,” Gallegos said. “It’s covert, self-contained with its own battery, easy to install and has geofencing GPS capabilities that provide accurate location updates within 100 feet.”

Prasad Gollapalli, founder and CEO of Trucker Tools, said the new data enables brokers and shippers to plan arrival time and related warehouse staffing. It also provides further convenience and ease-of-use benefits to truckers.

“For those whose trailers are equipped with Anytrek, this becomes one more option for them to provide their customers with accurate and timely location updates,” Gollapalli said. — Transport Topics
