Truck-Lite Co. has completed the acquisition of TrackPoint Systems, a supplier of asset-management solutions to the transportation, utility, construction, oil field and government sectors.

“Entering an agreement with TrackPoint was a key factor in Truck-Lite’s emergence as a leading telematics systems provider,” Truck-Lite CEO Brian Kupchella said in a company release.

TrackPoint’s solar-powered and wireless capabilities significantly complemented the Road Ready by Truck-Lite technology road map. Since then, Road Ready has developed into an independent business unit at Truck-Lite and provides a smart trailer network tied to telematics, according to the Falconer, N.Y.-based company.

Truck-Lite produces forward, safety and auxiliary lighting, wiring harness, mirror, fuel filtration and water separation, turn signal, safety accessories and telematics solutions for the medium- and heavy-duty truck, trailer, off-road and marine industries. — Transport Topics
