Transtex, a manufacturer of aerodynamic products and fleet-safety technology for commercial vehicles, has acquired TopKit and LeadEdge Top Fairing assets from SmartTruck, a precision aerodynamics company based in Greenville, S.C.

Terms were not disclosed.

The transaction, announced April 11, will help the company offer products that maximize fuel savings, Transtex officials said, while furthering the company’s research and development.

TopKit, which is SmartWay-verified, redirects air toward the rear of the trailer to reduce drag. It benefits dry vans, refrigerated units and straight trucks with swing or rollup doors, Transtex officials said. LeadEdge improves airflow between the truck and trailer or two tandem trailers, officials said.
