Transport Corp. Reports Loss for Fourth Quarter

ruckload carrier Transport Corp. of America Inc. said its net loss for the fourth quarter was $445,000 or 7 cents a share, compared with a net income of $1.1 million or 17 cents a year earlier.

Revenue inched up to $65.8 million from $65.3 for the quarter, the company said.

The company said the 2005 quarter included a $800,000 or 12-cent charge related to its proposed merger with Goldner Hawn Johnson & Morrison Inc.



For the full year, the company said it earned $596,000 or 9 cents compared with $2 million or 30 cents a year earlier.

Transport Corp., Eagan, Minn., is ranked No. 76 on the Transport Topics 100 list of the largest U.S. and Canadian trucking companies.
