TransForce to Buy Canadian Oilfield Transport Firm

ontreal-based transportation and logistics firm TransForce Income Fund said Friday it has signed an agreement to acquire Alberta-based Kos Corp. Oilfield Transportation Ltd. and affiliated companies for a combination of TransForce units and cash.

Kos provides transportation services to the energy industry in western Canada, primarily to gas and oilfield operations. Its anticipated revenue for 2006 is about $67 million, TransForce said in a statement.

TransForce Income Fund is ranked No. 26 on the Transport Topics 100 listing of U.S. and Canadian for-hire carriers.
