Digital asset-sharing platform vHub announced that its integration of telematics offerings now includes the TrackLight taillamp GPS trailer-tracking solution from Anytrek and the 4W Telematics trailer tracking system. The integrated technologies provide its users with an exact location of trailer units, according to vHub.

“Integrated solutions benefit fleet or trailer owners and short-term users, and their drivers, in several ways,” vHub Vice President Francis Roy said in a July 24 statement. “They provide a higher level of confidence about exactly where trailers are located, and keep better track of assets that are available and being utilized by short-term users.”

The company said in the announcement that the collaborative trailer-sharing platform provides exact unit locations automatically.

“Our integration with vHub is simple to use with their API technology,” Estefania Gallegos, Anytrek operations manager, said in a statement. “The transportation industry is moving into a phase where everything is technology-driven. This relationship helps our customers by making trailers smarter and operations more efficient.”

The integration of these technologies will automatically measure and bill the renter’s traveled distance. This removes the need for data entry and possible errors. Trailer owners also are provided information on how their units are used and about unused assets. — Transport Topics
